The Galapagos marine iguana (Amblyrhynchus cristatus),is the only vertebrate known to shrink in body size regularly when adult, and then to grow larger again. It is also the only sea going lizard. During El Nino weather events, they lose the bone mass and shrink upto 15% in the body length. The following year they grow again and, even larger then they were before shrinking.
